Smirk - Everybody's Best Friend

Published 2004

San Francisco's SMIRK are punk/rock with a sarcastic attitude. Not bitter about their retail jobs, but angry at the overly needy customers that they come in contact with. This song and video are based on a real person. (Who is it ?, Who is it ?) It was shot over 3 days in June 2004. White pants! Black Thong! What's Wrong????

Cute video , the vocals aren't really punk, but it is a good video, anyone who has worked retail can relate to this. I would like to get a copy of this onDVD

This is a good little video and song. It holds up on repeated viewings as something playful and fun. You can tell they had fun shooting it. The song is kind of cool, too. It isn't really "punk rock" in the sense that punk has come to be known, i.e., it isn't loud and annoying. It's just a song, but a song that somebody actually sat down and wrote. I guess since it doesn't really fit into any particular genre, punk rock would suffice as a general description.

An excellent, highly enjoyable video from these SF punks. Anyone who works retail can relate to the sentiment and necessity for poking fun at your customers. The main character is great. Let's see his thong one more time!
